Since 2012, I’ve been exploring the overlooked scenes in the small town of Wardensville, W.Va. The painting above, “Daybreak,” is an example of one of the places that are endlessly fascinating to me, as this house is adjacent to the Wardensville Town Park and once was part of the farm that originally made up the park site. Viewed from different angles, the house can look quite different, and I’ve included it in multiple paintings in the series. The gallery below shares a few of my favorite paintings from this series.
